SciSys has developed a satellite simulator for the European Space Agency's (ESA) GOCE (Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Explorer) mission to support satellite operations.
The main purpose of the simulator is to reduce risk in the GOCE mission. It:
- Enables full testing of the mission control system prior to launch.
- Supports on-going training and operations procedures of the mission control team before the launch, and ongoing training after launch.
- Investigates any failures and tests potential solutions before applying them to the actual spacecraft.

The GOCE simulator is a high-fidelity real-time model of the spacecraft and its environment. It models thousands of spacecraft and environment parameters - from onboard voltages to the position of the sun. It also runs the real onboard software within a software processor emulator.

The GOCE Simulator uses ESA's proven SIMSAT simulation kernel and runs on PC hardware.
Other spacecraft simulators developed by SciSys include:
- Integral
- Envisat
- Aeolus
- Galileo System Test Bed V2
- Mars Ascent Vehicle
